Our activities
The association Help Children of Mali (HECHIMA) has again played an important role this year in protecting children and promoting their rights. Despite the less favorable socio-economic situation in our country, we have combined our efforts to promote the activities listed below.
Objectives:
- Contributing to the improvement of the living conditions of vulnerable population groups.
- Contributing to the fight against school dropout among children, especially girls.
- Providing medical assistance to children from disadvantaged families.
- Contributing to the social and professional reintegration of these children.
- And more.
Our actions
1. Donations to orphans and talibé children
This action takes place regularly at the association's headquarters. Children from different neighborhoods come together to share this special moment. We offer them healthy food such as milk, cookies, and gifts. These disadvantaged children, including orphans and talibé children (children from the Koranic school), are among the most needy, as many of them have to travel long distances to get a daily meal.
2. Visits to children
Our visits to poor neighborhoods allow us to better understand the real problems children face and to share pleasant and happy moments with them. The above photos were taken in a remote district of Bamako, where the needs are greatest. These children need recreational activities, as this keeps them away from illegal practices.
3. Purchase of kitchenware and materials
We thank one of our private donors who donated kitchenware to families. This encourages us, as this contribution benefits the well-being of families and especially the children.
4. Visit to the site for the construction of a shelter
Currently, the association rents a space. Therefore, we have decided to raise funds from our partners to build a shelter for disadvantaged children in Lassa. This center will include bedrooms, reading rooms, a dining area, recreation zones, offices, a football field, and more.
5. Food distribution
By distributing food to disadvantaged children, we have noticed how great their need for food is. We have fully committed ourselves to fighting malnutrition and ensuring healthy nutrition. To date, we have provided meals to more than sixty children. We have also shared dinners with orphans and made them aware of body care and healthy nutrition. During these gatherings, the children were very happy to share these special moments. They expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to the association and hope that these initiatives will be repeated regularly. We are happy with the meaning this gives to our lives and with the appreciation we receive for our efforts.

We would like to emphasize that the association so far works exclusively based on its own resources and the commitment of courageous volunteers to realize these activities.
